First of all, a huge welcome to Amisfield Tower – we are delighted you are considering this stunning space as your venue. We are a local events company with a combined knowledge of over 40 years in the events industry. Headed up by Will & Sophie Duncan, we are responsible from your first point of contact until your last guest leaves on your wedding night! Will has owned & managed a successful marquee hire company for over 10 years and brings a wealth of industry knowledge to Amisfield. As well as the marquee hire business, Queensberry Events have also been managing weddings on Dalswinton Estate since 2018.

We will work with you to develop a day that will allow you to relax and enjoy, safe in the knowledge that every detail has been thought of! 

Amisfield Tower & The Johnstone Family

Historians have indicated that a tower existed on the site in the early 13th century but the current tower you see before you was reputed to have been built by Sir John Charteris in about the year 1600. The date AD 1600 (during the reign of James VI) is engraved over the main entrance. The tower is one of several built along the Scottish border to keep the English from stealing the Scottish cattle & sheep. In the Tower, is a bedchamber in which King James VI is said to have slept on his way to England. The property was bought by the Johnstone family in the early 1930s and to this day continues to be their family home in Dumfriesshire.

Jamie & Emma Johnstone have opened the doors of their beautiful family home to share with prospective couples & have worked hard to create a wonderful setting, for your wedding day.
